I was wishin that.. (jump to) Day 59

"Who's turn is it today?" Liz sits up and stretches from the hard cold floor.

"Marcus I think." Ross sits up as well and helps Daniel to his feet.

"Where is he?" Daniel looks around.

"West wall" say Ross and he points to the man crouched with this arms wrapped around his knees. "Easy to find everyone know with only twenty of us left, after him you're next to leave aren't you?" Ross nudges Liz.

"Yeah, I think all the other numbers are gone."

"So when did Cipher made everyone take back their numbers?" Daniel looks around the room tallying who's left.

"While you guys were in the infirmary, he insisted, said it was about setting back the natural order." Liz walks over and stretches some more as if she's at a gym.

"Can I get my original back?" Daniel raises his eyebrows and throws out some sarcasm.

"We never found out who hit you. Could have been anyone. Well anyone but me, Liz, Anne or Dalton. I wish we knew." Ross pretends to do stretches.

"Doesn't even matter anymore. Lets just get through this day, I mean we're more than half way done." Daniel walks to the center of the room.

The group assembles and they each hold up their tag, the monitor comes on and Cipher appears. "Good morning class. I hope all of you have studied last night because today they're is going to be a pop quiz. If the group passes the quiz with at least 70% accurate Marcus gets to leave today. Bonus points, for the person who answers the most questions in the group, they'll get to ask me four questions of whatever they want, and I promise I will answer them honestly. You can be seated, when you know the correct answer please raise your hand. There are ten questions, get more than 3 wrong Marcus doesn't go home, here we go."

The group all sit on the floor and wait for the questions to begin, they start off fairly easy, who was the last person to leave, what did Randy do for a living, what was the torture of Day 5. Ross fortunately has turned this entire experience in his head to be a movie, detaching from the reality and remember all of these little tidbits.

Alfred left yesterday, Randy was a new car salesman and Day 5 was the day we were all cramped into the room naked, everyone knew that one. The questions progressively get harder, we feel bad when we miss the first question when its asked who was the first person to die in the room. So many people died early on in those first two days no one can remember.

Questions come about Jay and then Rashaan, the food we've eaten, and the colors on the monitors when we thought the rooms were being killed. Cipher is intentionally making questions now that are messing with our heads. We miss another question when we find out that Renee was responsible for killing several people in the room early on.

The last two questions come and we've missed two, all we need to do is answer these two right and Marcus is going home, Ross has been leading with the answers, and he'll be the one to get to ask his questions.

"Question 8, who is not supposed to be here right now?" Cipher reads from his card. The group looks around, unsure of how they're supposed to answer, seeing as they feel none of them are supposed to be here. Scott raises his hand.

"Daniel, if he would have been here or swapped numbers with someone he would be gone by now." Scott nods and looks around getting reassurance from the group, they all seem to like the answer, it makes the most sense.

"Incorrect." Cipher responds, but just like the other two he doesn't tell us the correct answer. "That's three wrong, get one more wrong and Marcus gets to stay."

"Question 9, Who killed Dalton?" he leans back in his chair, if we could see his face we know he'd be smiling.

"I did." Daniel answers.

"Is that your final answer? Are you sure you don't want to say I killed him, and blame me?" Cipher leans in closer to the camera that feeds his image to the room.

"No, it was me." Daniel answers back and then sits back down.

"Correct. Question 10: Who are the only two people to fall in love here in the room?" this is clearly another personal attack, this time thrown at Ross. Its fitting that both Ross and Daniel have to deal with his actions with these last two questions Cipher loves watching them squirm more than anyone.

Ross steps forward, "Bonnie and Renee." he answers and everyone looks at him oddly.

"Are you sure? Didn't you feel something for someone who just left a week ago?" Cipher again taking that condescending questioning tone.

"I was in love, or rather I am in love, but... she wasn't. Bonnie and Renee both fell in love in here." Ross sighs with his admittance of his broken heart.

"That's correct. Marcus you get to go home. Exit through the North wall please. Ross you answered the most questions right, you get to ask me four questions. You must ask all four right now, and I will only answer all four after you've asked." Cipher leans back in his chair.

Ross looks puzzled he was wishing he had more time, but of course with any of Cipher's rewards its always the way he chooses to hand them out that make them not taste as good. "Okay, four questions, 1. Are you the President or high ranking government official 2. Did Anne get married yet? 3. Who's not supposed to be here? and 4. Who punched Daniel and gave him the 100 ticket."

"Oooooh, good questions, and I promise I will answer them honestly. Okay one, no, I'm not and to prove I'm not the president..." Cipher removes one of his gloves revealing a hand with only three fingers. "I'm pretty sure the President has all his digits. Next question did your Annie get married yet? Nope, not yet, she's told reporters that the stress of it all has delayed her nuptials. When asked if its because of you..."Cipher pauses and the room dangles at his response. "Well wait you didn't ask me to go into detail on that one, moving on."

"Dammit!" Ross shouts

"Buddy, she's not married yet." Daniel pats him on the back.

"Right." Ross smirks

"Now the last two questions, who's not supposed to be here, and who gave Daniel the number 100 tag, lets see how can I answer those." Cipher pauses and taps his finger against his lips. "I suppose now that there are less than 20 people in the room the questions basically can answer itself."

The room looks confused, Ross looks over at Liz as if to ask if he's missing something, but she just shrugs. Until the look on her face turns white as a ghost and her eyes pop out of her head. Behind Ross, Scott comes running up and punches Daniel square in the jaw and drops him to the floor hard.

"Dude! What the hell?!" Ross leans down and grabs Daniel as Liz and Jim rush over to help out. "Scott?! What're you doing?!"

"Leaving bro." he tosses his tag on Daniel's chest, it says number 53 and almost within the same motion the P90s enter the room and aim their guns at the group.

"I thought you had something in the 70s?" Liz looks at him.

"I did, well that was my original number, then I got 53, but I didn't have to get my old number back." he chuckles.

"Why not?" Jim glares at him, standing up to him but being aware of the guns aimed at his chest.

"I never needed a number, I only had to try and stay in here until there were less than 20 people left, and then I get to leave." Scott shrugs his shoulders.

"You made a deal with Cipher back when Dalton made his deal." Ross does a  flashback to the day when Daniel, Dalton and Scott got to make a deal with Cipher which eventually lead to Dalton's death.

"EHHH! Wrong! Didn't make a deal that day, just had to give him a status report. You know privately check in." Scott stars moving to the door.

"Check in?  When did you make the deal?" Liz screams out.

"There was no deal. I'm a volunteer. I was to survive until there were 20 of you left, and then I'm out, all the time helping Cipher along the way, but from the inside. The weights falling, stepping on sensors we weren't supposed to, blocking tunnels, and oh yeah, answering questions wrong. I'm not supposed to be here, and yeah morons, I gave your precious Danny boy the number 100 tag, just moments after Cipher handed it to me himself." he takes a bow and walks backwards to the North wall.

The group gets up and starts to approach him, but the P90s have raised their rifles putting everyone back in their place. "Enjoy the rest of your stay everyone. I'm going to go home and have a nice steak dinner or maybe some McDonalds. Mmmmmm."

"And that class is the end of today's lesson, see you all tomorrow, things are about to get even worse." Cipher hits his button and the monitor blinks off.

End day 59
