At some point in the night as they held on to one another the fatigue and pain won the battle of will over two of the other boards. The board balancing over the pile of rocks gave out, in the dead center of the group the two grasping hands slipped, let go and sent both sides falling backwards fortunately in doing so most of them fell to the side of the board rather than sliding down the back. Because it was such an even break the separation instead caused them to stumble and several of them even jumped to try and avoid the rocks below, and they succeeded.
Some weren't as successful, they ended up landing on the rocks and smashed into them resulting in two of them being knocked unconscious while the others just laid there badly bruised. All of them hurt from falling from the board, twisted ankles, scrapes, and pounding headaches for each and all, but they lived, they took solace in that.
The second board to fall was the group above the broken glass, a man named Franklin was at the back of the line and hit the ground first. When he and the others, including Liz and Anne fell to the floor it was because one of their line let go out of sheer exhaustion. Luckily throughout their time on the board during the day they all spoke about what would happen if they fell on the glass. The consensus was that while some would get cut, unless when they hit the ground they did some major rolling around, for the most part they might be fine. The glass wasn't standing on end with shards reaching to the sky awaiting their bodies to fall, it was flat. The P90s had just dropped sheets of glass and let them break, in some cases the pieces cracked but just barely, and sure while landing on glass doesn't sound any sorts of fun, it didn't sound lethal.Their predictions were pretty spot on, they all hit the floor and tried to remain as calm as possible when doing so. Then they simply sat up and got into a standing position and did their best to not pull a John McClane and end up with feet full of glass.
For an hour the two groups waited for Cypher and the P90s to emerge from the doors and gather them up, and throw them in their rooms, but none came. Finally Liz and a few of the others walked over to the other board to see how they were doing.
"Test the liquid." a man with long blond hair called down to them.
"Test it with what?" Liz shot back.
"See if its poison or acid or something!" he yelled at her.
"And how the hell am I supposed to do that?! I'm not touching i! It doesn't have a smell, but I don't know if acid has a smell."
"Ross would know." Dalton looks over to the door where they dragged their two friends.
More hours pass and the monitor finally turns on and Cipher appears. "Good morning all, I see two out of the three boards fell and didn't make it through the night. How sad, that couldn't have felt good, but at least all you got id hurt. Now if you would be so kind as to help board three down so we can do day 16."
"What's the liquid?" Liz shouts.
"Its flammable on the side closest to you, and the bottom of the board would have caused a spark igniting it, so just make sure the bottom of the board doesn't slam down and you'll be fine, get everyone off the other side its just water there. Essentially you had a 50/50 chance there." He leans back in his chair and watches everyone get off the board safely. "Okay center of the room, lets go, where's Dean White?"
"I'm right here." the man with long blond hair jumps forward.
"Ready to go are we?" Cipher pushes a button on his console. Dean holds up his tag and a light shines on one of the room doors, he goes running over and exits the room, the door slams behind him. "I didn't like him, did you guys like him, he seemed like a jerk."
"Where are Danial and Ross?" Anne shouts out.
"So on to day 16" he pushes another button and from openings in the wall, boxes fall out and hit the ground. "Those are boxed lunches, eat, those are all you get for the day, no stuffing you today, however some of the food is spoiled and pretty gross be careful which ones you eat."
"What about Daniel and Ross!" Jim shouts out. "Where are they, let them out!"
"Oh, no no no, today is kinda a boring day, I don't want to just sit here and watch you guys figure out what food is spoiled and which is not, and that's not going to work well for the cameras either, so I'm going to take the public with me and go have some fun with your two friends." Cipher turns in his chair away from the camera and jots something down on a piece of paper.
"Why is it going to be hard for us to figure out if the food is spoiled? And why will it not work for the cameras?" Scott screams out.
With that he turns one more time looks at his console and press a button, all the lights in the room go out except for the monitor. "Enjoy day 16 if you can, just seems a bit boring to me, but trust me things are going to get really good around here, really fast."
"Where are DANIEL AND ROSS!" Jim shouts out again.
The monitor goes off and they are in complete blackness. Begin Day 16.
